Enterprise Information Management - Reference Book
I have now read Johns fine book. In my honest opinion it is destined to be one of the classics of information management. Master class indeed. In particular I like his consistent business focus, which really distinguishes Johns work from that of so many others. It is so important. It is a great reference work and has most of what you need of templates etc. in the appendices. A bit disappointed about the low key on business concept models. But I am very nicely surprised to find, here, the first serious attempt at valuation guidelines for information assets. In chapter 28 of the book he describes his approach, which he has named GAIP (tm), Generally Accepted Information Principles. He has worked on this together with Doug Laney, and their work is pioneering. Very important development, and about time, if you ask me.
